A simple homemade natural skincare is all you need when you want a quick mood uplifting self-care. It’s easy, simple, and mostly free. But the benefits are amazing.
Homemade natural skin care items
I love natural products. And I grew up seeing my mom and her friends using natural ingredients from the kitchen for their skincare. Items like egg yolk, coconut oil, avocado, honey, etc. So now I copy them.
I find it quite practical as well to use such items for my skincare. Not only I don’t have to spend extra for them, but most of the items are also almost always in my kitchen cupboard or fridge. All I need to do is just mix and whip it up then apply it to my skin. Easy peasy.
The nice thing is, now I see all those items as ingredients in many (if not all) skincare products.
The last two decades have seen a popular trend of skincare that made of natural ingredients. Literally, every brand claims that they only use ingredients that natural and even organic.
Skincare that made of milk, avocado, yogurt, honey, and many more have become a trend. And the customers like to choose the stuff that has those natural mixtures. Although in reality those natural ingredients have been processed and added with some other stuff so that the mixture will have a long shelf life.
So really, if you’re after the benefits of that fabulous natural stuff for your skin, why don’t you just mix and whip it up yourself? It only takes a few minutes to get it ready. And you don’t have to set a special budget for it. Because it’ll be on your shopping list anyway 😘.
Although there are many choices of kitchen ingredients that you can use for skincare, the following 10 items are my favorites.

But of all the goodness that yogurt has, Lactic Acid (Alpha-Hydroxy-Acid) is probably the most property you really want to get. This amazing AHA has been widely promoted by commercial products as well. Because it helps to remove dead skin cells and clearing the pores that with regular use you can get healthy glowing skin.

Homemade natural skincare combination
The mixture combos below can be used for both face and body masks. You can just double or triple the recipes according to the amount you need.
Yogurt and Honey
I love this mixture. Very easy to do and most calming on the skin. It’s good all year round. You only need one tablespoon of yogurt and one teaspoon of honey for this mixture.
Egg yolk and Honey
Lightly beat it and apply it to your skin. This mixture is very good when you need that quick fix before an important occasion such as a party. It makes your skin feel very soft and supple with an amazing glow. Just mix one egg yolk of a small egg with one teaspoon of honey.
Oats, Milk, and Honey
Doesn’t this mix sound like a good breakfast combo? And it’s so good for your skin too. Soak a tablespoon of oats with two tablespoons of milk. When it’s softened, mash it a little bit and add one teaspoon of honey.
This mix is one of the choices you want to go to again and again. Because it really soothes your skin, and leaves it to hydrate, soft and brightened.
Yogurt and Turmeric
Use this mix after you had a nice sunbathing day. This mix really calms your burned skin. But of course, you can use it anytime. This face mask mix is good for dull-free glowing skin. One tablespoon of yogurt and half teaspoon of turmeric powder is more than enough for your face mask.
Coconut Oil and Turmeric
I normally use this mix at the end of winter when the weather change leaves my skin dry and rough. The combo of coconut oil and turmeric helps my skin hydrate and improve skin regeneration in no time. Just mix one teaspoon of coconut oil and a quarter teaspoon of turmeric, and let this mix do wonder to your skin.
Avocado and Yogurt
I normally don’t mix anything with avocado for my face mask. But if I want to use it as a body mask as well, I would mix half of the avocado with two tablespoons of yogurt. This mix really soothes and calms the skin leaving you to feel rejuvenated.
Papaya and Honey
I used to use mashed papaya on its own for face and body mask. This fruit really does make your skin feel smooth, soft and radiant. But you can mix it with honey if you want to give more boost to your skin regeneration.
Rice Powder, Turmeric and Milk
Try this mix if you need to exfoliate your skin. You can mix one tablespoon of rice powder and a quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder with a little bit of milk until you get a smooth paste. Apply it to your skin and gently massage it for a few minutes before you leave the mixture as a mask on your skin.
Oats, Milk, and Turmeric
Leave to soak a tablespoon of oats, a quarter teaspoon of turmeric powder and two tablespoons of milk. When the oats softened, mash the mixture as smooth as you can. This concoction will leave your skin hydrated, bright and radiant.
